First of all, let’s be clear, President Obama didn’t come for our guns from 2009 – 2012; and it is not President Obama coming for our guns in 2013 – 2016.  Gun violence, senseless death and destruction in our society, and the stolen innocence of our children is and should be the overriding reason “We the People”, now if ever, need to act!  (As a side note: As far as Obama is concerned: Frankly speaking, there are still an amazing number of people out there who simply can not cope with the fact that a “Black” man is President of the United States of America! So, the latest “hate speak” is “the Black man is going to take away the “White” man’s guns”. OBAMA is our President…..Get over it!!)

That being said, the world has changed and the United States has changed. There simply aren’t many black powder pounded, musket loaded, single shot militia rifles permiating our society anymore. We also no longer  settle our differences by “meeting in the street at high noon” for the perverbial “six gun shoot out”.

It’s time to face the fact that certain types of guns, ammo clips,  and ammunitions can no longer be deemed as “acceptable” in the hands of the general public. This Is The Hard Truth! The 2nd Amendment to our Constitution does not imply that we can have a nuclear missile cylo dug in our backyards as our “right to bare arms”.

As extreme as the last statement is, It is beyond insane that grown people are willing to hide behind patriotism and the 2nd Amendment as a way for them to play “commando” in their backyards with worse than lethal semi automatic and automatic weapons of mass destruction. Most of these people wouldn’t last 30 seconds in a real “combat theatre”, yet they worry about our Government turning our country into a socialistic dictatorship? And……they actually want us to believe that in the event such a ridiculously absurd circumstance did occur, they would be our gun-toting saviors? Really? Have you heard some of these lunatics speak?  If paranoia, ignorance, and stupidity were college degrees, some of these extreme “gun rights” activists (such as Alex Jones, Wayne LaPierre, Republicans in Congress, etc.) would have Ph.D’s. But they aren’t……..and they don’t!

News Flash….the gun lobby wants to make and sell more guns only to Make More Money, 2nd Amendment be damned!

More guns in more hands is not the answer. Sensible, responsible gun ownership and accountability, coupled with “common sense” effective legislalton IS the answer. Effective legislation around guns and mental health assistance is the key to a safer, more free America.  It is far too easy for irresponsible people to get their hands on the guns of responsible people. Fix this problem and we materially decrease the risk of violent crime and senseless deaths. It is far too easy for the mentally ill to be overlooked and uncared for to the point they become a danger to themselves and others. Fix this problem and we materially decrease the risk of violent crimes and senseless deaths.

This is not just a guns problem……..but at the end of the day……”People With Guns Kill People”.

America, we are bigger than this problem and its petty partisan politics. The lives of more of our children and citizens are at stake. Let’s Fix This Now!……..No More Procrastinating!……..Grow “a pair” and let’s take this head-on!

Then take a good look at our “DIS-FUNCTIONAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES” and at some of our neighboring States’ “REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED STATE HOUSES”.  These elected officials give a whole new meaning to the word MORON!!  While they were supposed to be handling our business at the local, state and national level, (to better our economy and continue our slower than necessary recovery, not to mention job creation and “middle Class” growth), exactly what have they been doing?????

Here’s what they’ve been doing……. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! Unless you call working:  restricting women’s rights; de-funding Planned Parenthood; redistricting States so that regardless of the number of popular votes casted for the opposition party, the Republicans still win all of the representatives to Congress; opposing any and every attempt by the “Overwhelmingly Re-elected President Obama” to move this country forward; passing gerimandered voter I.D. and voter suppression laws; and putting their selfish political interests far ahead of “We the People’s!”.  And to add insult to injury, “We the People” have been supporting their sorry non-working asses with our hard-earned tax dollars!!

Now here’s the real horror. “We the People” are responsible for those selfish, lazy “SOBs” being in office. Why? Because we refused to get up off our collective asses and vote in the 2010 Mid-Term Elections for representatives who would put our Country first instead of their selfish, ideological, “shut down the government”, obstructionist politics. Our Country can not afford any more “Bull Sh#t”.  America continues to hemorrhage while those morons (and there’s only about 55 of them) continue to gum up the works.  @JohnBoehner hasn’t got the “brass ones” to stand up for what’s right and let the House of Representatives vote. No, he’s worried about the Tea Party Caucus and being re-elected as Speaker of the House again next Wednesday!

Here’s the deal @JohnBoehner.  If you can’t be an effective leader now, when it counts most, who in Hell would want you as Speaker for a second term? Say what you will about @NancyPelosi, but she didn’t give a flying f*#k what anybody thought of her or whether she would be re-elected as Speaker of the House, she made the hard decisions, compromised across Party lines when necessary, and put the country first. She controlled her #Caucus, as a Speaker should, and got “We the People’s” business done on behalf of the President. @JohnBoehner has appeared as spineless as a garter snake; afraid of 55 or so Tea Party morons. That sir, is an absolute disgrace to the Speakership and the country!!

America, “We the People” elected individuals to the House of Representatives in the last Mid-Term Election in 2010 (by staying at home and not voting), that wouldn’t know a financial statement from a “bread box”. They have little or no working knowledge of economics or the impact of Congressional decisions on our economy. They are incapable of making a rational decision regarding taxes, debt, job creation, or the necessity of America to honoring its debt obligations. They are the most ill-equipped bunch of ideologues ever assembled under one roof. Their single goal is obstructionism and their single priority is abolition of abortion rights; all under the guise of “smaller government”. What a crock!!!

This Bull Sh#t has to got stop America!!  Get on your twitter feeds, Facebook pages, YouTube, Pin, emails, cell phones, and contact your individual representative @Congress NOW! Tell your friends and neighbors to let Congress know how fed up and pissed off we are about their laziness and partisan politics at our Country’s and economy’s expense.  And after we all do that……………

In 2014, “We the People” had better get up off our collective asses and vote in the Mid-Term Elections!!!! If you’re haven’t already, you’ll have to declare a “Party Affiliation” (Democrat or Republican) in order to vote in the Mid-Terms, but that doesn’t matter. If you’re an Independent or Libertarian, you can change your status back easily before the 2016 Presidential election. But we have to start voting in sensible, knowledgeable, and credible representatives to Congress in 2014. If we sit at home in 2014 like we did in 2010, this dangerous congressional non-sense will continue and our “Middle Class” and “American Dream” will perish.

MAKE SOME COLLECTIVE NOISE IN CONGRESS NOW!!!! THEN, VOTE THE MORONS OUT IN 2014!!!  “WE the PEOPLE” MADE OUR VOICES HEARD IN THE 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. APPARENTLY THE REPUBLICANS NEED TO BE REMINDED OF THAT!! LET THEM HEAR FROM US NOW!!

Nowhere, in our American Constitution, does it state that the Presidency of the United States is reserved for “old, rich, White guys”. This is the 21st century. America is no longer a “slave state”.

There, I said it!

When I look at the news and I see in a Florida city, where a full size manikin, resembling our President, is hung from a “noose” in the front of a public Shell Oil gas station, it simply infuriates me. In this day and age, the fact that we continue to have people so ignorant, uninformed, and full of hate for our President, simply because he is “not White”, is appalling.

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama during the 50’s. 60’s and 70’s. I fully understand racism, bigotry, segregation and hatred. So I know of what I speak. It is time, NO, it’s well past time, for all of us to realize “WE ARE ALL AMERICANS”!  The real “entitlements” we as Americans need to get rid of, are those that make some of us think we are superior simply because of the color of our skin.  As they would say in my home State: “That dog don’t hunt no more”.  So, America……….KNOCK IT OFF!! RACISM, FOR ANY REASON, IS WRONG!! WE KNOW BETTER…..WE ARE BETTER!!!

America has, and continues, to change. Get over it. It’s REALITY. We are not a nation of “Whites in Charge”. We are a nation of diverse, talented, intelligent, and tolerant people. We should now all start acting like it. There is no reason for President Obama to have had to endure the crap that’s been dish out to him, just because he’s “not White”. No other President in the history of the United States has endured more racial “hate speak” and threats than this man.

So, once and for all people:  President Obama is a U.S. citizen, he is a Christian (although, I don’t see what difference it would make if he weren’t); he is a smart, articulate, deep-thinking, compassionate, caring, truthful, honest, focussed, strong, decisive and trustsworthy family man……….and he happens to be Black. Some of us would not have any problems with this man if he were White….and that is a shame.

Andrew M. Manis: When Are WE Going to Get Over It?

For much of the last forty years, ever since America “fixed” its race problem in the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts, we White people have been impatient with African-Americans who continued to blame race for their difficulties. Often we have heard Whites ask, “When are African-Americans finally going to get over it? Now I want to ask: “When are we White Americans going to get over our ridiculous obsession with skin color?

Recent reports that “Election Spurs Hundreds’ of Race Threats, Crimes” should frighten and infuriate every one of us. Having grown up in “Bombingham,” Alabama in the 1960s, I remember overhearing an avalanche of comments about what many White classmates and their parents wanted to do to John and Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Eventually, as you may recall, in all three cases, someone decided to do more than “talk the talk.”

Since our recent presidential election, to our eternal shame we are once again hearing the same reprehensible talk I remember from my boyhood.

We White people have controlled political life in the disunited colonies and United States for some 400 years on this continent. Conservative Whites have been in power 28 of the last 40 years. Even during the eight Clinton years, conservatives in Congress blocked most of his agenda and pulled him to the right. Yet never in that period did I read any headlines suggesting that anyone was calling for the assassinations of presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan, or either of the Bushes. Criticize them, yes. Call for their impeachment, perhaps. But there were no bounties on their heads. And even when someone did try to kill Ronald Reagan, the perpetrator was non-political mental case who wanted merely to impress Jody Foster.

But elect a liberal who happens to be Black and we’re back in the sixties again. At this point in our history, we should be proud that we’ve proven what conservatives are always saying — that in America anything is possible, EVEN electing a Black man as president. But instead we now hear that school children from Maine to California are talking about wanting to “assassinate Obama.” Fighting the urge to throw up, I can only ask, “How long?” How long before we White people realize we can’t make our nation, much less the whole world, look like us? How long until we White people can – once and for all – get over this hell-conceived preoccupation with skin color? How long until we White people get over the demonic conviction that White skin makes us superior? How long before we White people get over our bitter resentments about being demoted to the status of equality with non-Whites?

How long before we get over our expectations that we should be at the head of the line merely because of our White skin? How long until we White people end our silence and call out our peers when they share the latest racist jokes in the privacy of our White-only conversations?

I believe in free speech, but how long until we White people start making racist loudmouths as socially uncomfortable as we do flag burners? How long until we White people will stop insisting that Blacks exercise personal responsibility, build strong families, educate themselves enough to edit the Harvard Law Review, and work hard enough to become President of the United States, only to threaten to assassinate them when they do?

How long before we start “living out the true meaning” of our creeds, both civil and religious, that all men and women are created equal and that “red and yellow, black and White” all are precious in God’s sight? Until this past November 4, I didn’t believe this country would ever elect an African-American to the presidency. I still don’t believe I’ll live long enough to see us White people get over our racism problem.

But here’s my three-point plan:

First, everyday that Barack Obama lives in the White House that Black Slaves Built, I’m going to pray that God (and the Secret Service) will protect him and his family from us White people.

Second, I’m going to report to the FBI any White person I overhear saying, in seriousness or in jest, anything of a threatening nature about President Obama.

Third, I’m going to pray to live long enough to see America surprise the world once again, when White people can “in spirit and in truth” sing of our damnable color prejudice, “We HAVE overcome.”

Keep in mind that he, Mitt Romney, won’t tell you how he’ll make his job miracle happen until he’s elected President. If you like this recipe, then Vote for Romney!!

Romney says “government doesn’t create jobs”. But he also says if we elect him as our next President of the U.S. Government , you know, the same government that doesn’t create jobs, he, President of the Government Romney, will create 12 million new jobs in his first four years. Fact: If a President Romney does nothing, for the next four years, based on the current pace and improving condition of our economy (thanks to the policies of President Obama, by the way), there will be 12 million new jobs created, regardless. We lost over 8 million jobs during the economic disaster left by the Bush Administration. We’ve gained 5.2 million of those private sector jobs back under President Obama.

Mitt Romney has no plan! President Obama is our man!

Romney says he knows how to reduce unemployment because he did it as Governor of Mass.  Really? America…..Are You Listening?

Fact: Romney reduced unemployment when he was Governor of Mass. because things were so bad there economically, people actually left the State.

That’s not job creation. That’s unemployment reduction through “self-relocation”. People actually left the State and relocated to other States. Romney has no plan! President Obama is our man!

Fact: Romney, under Bain Capital, knows how to ruin a business, ship American jobs to China, devastate American lives and pensions, and pocket the profits for himself.

Romney’s slogan should be: I know how to ruin a business, not run a business. How many names of the employees of the businesses Romney and Bain Capital helped liquidated for their gain does Romney know? None! Romney has no plan! President Obama is our man!
